My perspective is predominantly psychodynamic, and I have an interest in working with individuals seeking psychotherapy for dealing with both acute crises in their lives or with longer-standing ongoing, but less urgent, problems that impact on the quality of their lives. I am also interested in couple therapy, and in working with parents who need guidance or counselling in understanding and relating to their children.

This process, in some cases, may only require a few sessions; in others, it may take much longer if your struggles started earlier and are much more embedded in your life. It is a process where we will focus on you as a person and your motivations and the things that have meaning for you, rather than directly on your symptoms.

Some of the issues that may present themselves could include:

  • Relational problems
  • Anxiety and depression as an expression of deeper-lying conflicts
  • Childhood trauma and unresolved grief
  • Death, divorce and other life-changing transitions
  • Parenting issues.
